Optics: Tamron 70-300mm lens @300mm
Mount: Fixed Tripod.
Camera: Unmodified Canon 450D.
Calibration: 1 @ 1/5 sec, F/5.6, ISO 1600. Processed with Photoshop.
Notes: Of many pictures taken during the December 2010 lunar eclipse, this shot best caught the moon in its element. The greatest challenge in taking shots from a tripod, especially of a fast moving subject such as the moon, is finding a balance between aperture and shutter speed. Normally the moon is extremely bright, but here, requires the longest exposure possible.
